Steve Rostron worked in education as a teacher for over 10 years. He decided to concentrate and devote more time to painting after relocating to Lancashire in 2009. Based in the village of Sabden the surrounding landscape and ever changing sky’s made a huge impact on his work. The work is not always a direct representation of a scene or view but more an amalgamation of experience, memory and the visceral experience of painting. This approach allows more artistic and creative freedom. The work created has a more abstracted feel encouraging the viewer to bring their own interpretations.
